Registering Arrays

You can register a TileDB array that exists in an S3 bucket under your control, by clicking on Arrays in the header menu, and then on button Add array. If you do not have an array, please see the Creating Arrays or the Quickstart section of the TileDB Embedded docs for details and examples on how to first create your array.

A pop up will ask you to provide the S3 path to your array, the AWS keys that can access this array (you have this already set up), the owner of the array (it may be you or an organization you own), and a friendly name that will be used by all the users you might want to share the array with. Your array will be accessible by tiledb://<namespace>/<array-name> after it is registered, where namespace is the owner of the array.

There is absolutely no data movement upon registering an array with TileDB Cloud. Your data continue to exist in your bucket and you are the full owner of this data. TileDB Cloud just records the path and the AWS keys that can access it, so that it can govern access to it by you or the users you wish to share this array with.
